Vintage Bronze Lost Wax Sculpture African Tribal Musician
RARE!! Impressive sculpture of African musician cast in bronze using lost wax method. UNIQUE piece of art. Artist is Derme Morou (1940's - 1960's) is well known for his artistry and skill. Sculptures like these were primarily produced in 50's / 60's, but the process of lost wax has been used for thousands of years.
Exquisite highly detailed & larger than many. Please see measurements in pics. Musician is seated, so measurements are in sections. If he were in standing position, sculpture would be roughly 16" tall. Amazing piece weighs slightly over 4 lbs! Would sit very nicely on a shelf or mantel. Not only is it a beautiful conversation piece, bronze is highly sought after & highly valued.
