Vintage 800 Silver Carved Shell Cameo Pin Pendant

The cameo is hand-carved from shell, showcasing the profile of a woman with flowing, upswept hair and a sweet flower at her shoulder. The carving detail is crisp and clear, indicating a fine quality artisan piece.

The piece is set in solid silver, marked "800" on the reverse (indicating 80% silver purity, common for European, especially Italian, antique and vintage silver jewelry) The intricate, rope-like border surrounding the cameo features a vermeil finish—a plating of gold over sterling or fine silver—which gives it that gorgeous, warm gold-tone contrast against the silver back.

Excellent vintage condition. The carving is pristine, and the clasp is secure. Very minor signs of wear consistent with its age. We've photographed the marking as closely as possible, it’s a little hard to see.
